Traditionally infertility was seen as a woman’s problem but not just woman have infertility problems. Men think that they are lucky, that they do not get this problem, but sorry to tell you, you are not off the hook. Studies proved that one out of every 3 cases of infertility is due to the man’s infertility, and in most of the other cases, men are part of the infertility causes.

One of the hardest challenges that are man has to face in his life when pregnancy does not happen, is to go for infertility tests. For some men, this diagnosis can be overwhelming if they are found to be infertile.

Generally, men battle with their pride. In a lot of instances when a man cannot be a father, it can cause him to feel like he is disappointing as this is one of his most original responsibilities.

This can be a very hard decision, yet, men must accept fate and many may feel that there is nothing that can be done about infertility. However, there are treatments that can help with infertility but for a man, this is a difficult choice as most feel disappointed with themselves. Testicles are the two round balls that are hanging between a man’s legs and inside these testicles is a sperm production factory. Once the sperm is produced, it is stored inside the testicles inside a plumping liquid called epididymis. This storage area lies on the top side of the testicles.

Once a couple has sex and the sperm is ready to go and moves out to do their job. Even while on the way out, sperm is still protected, by semen. Once the man has ejaculated, or the sperm is in injected into the female’s body, it is when all the magic happens.

There is about 150 million sperm ejaculated at a time, about half a teaspoon of semen exiting out through the penis and entering a woman. Yet, the entire proses of fertilization depend on 3 things for it to be successful.

The three things that must present are a proper level of testosterone and other hormones that also has to be right. Plus, the timing for conception must be accurate. However, the most important thing is correct signaling from the man’s nervous system.


A woman ovulates once a month. Ovulation is when her body sends down an egg into her uterus. This ovulation usually happens between 14 to 15 days after her menstruation has stopped. Having sex in any of the 5 days before the ovulation will get a woman pregnant. Even 2 days after ovulation can result in a non-conception. Thus, timing is vital.

There are many different treatments out there to help with infertility problems and to help a couple with conceiving a baby.

The new treatment available today are:

Repairing the varicoceles with surgery.

If there is an obstruction in the path of the sperm, generally, it can also be fixed by surgery.


When there are abnormalities in the hormones, it can be treated with medication or surgery.

It is best to talk to your doctor and ask him or her which is the best option that will help to conceive a baby. There is nothing to be ashamed off, infertility is a common issue as a lot of people has the same problems and you are not the only one.
